Iman Vellani Cast as Ms. Marvel in Disney+ TV Series

According to Deadline, newcomer Iman Vellani has been cast as the lead in Disney+’s upcoming Marvel series, Ms. Marvel.

The series will be based on the most recent iteration of the character, Kamala Khan. The character first debuted in the comics in late 2013 and quickly debuted her own series in February 2014. The 16-year-old Pakistani-American from Jersey City, NJ will be the first onscreen Muslim hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kamala is expected to make additional appearances in the MCU films.
