EEAAO's Unprecedented SAG Sweep is Latest in Award Season Run

Last night, Everything Everywhere All At Once made history at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. After tying the record for most nominations for a film (5 nominations), Everything cemented its place with an unprecedented sweep and remarkable firsts for the Asian American community.

  • With his win for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role, Ke Huy Quan became the first male Asian actor to win an individual film SAG award.

  • With her win for Oustanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Lead Role, Michelle Yeoh becomes the first Asian to win a lead film SAG award.

The incredible showing at SAG is the latest in a long line of accolades for the film. Additional awards include major wins at the Producers Guild Awards, Directors Guild Awards, and Critics Choice Awards. Everything Everywhere All At Once is now the odds-on favorite to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards where it leads in nominations with 11 bids.

"Past Lives" Premieres to Raves at Sundance

Writer/Director Celine Song’s directorial debut Past Lives premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to near unanimous praise.

The film stars Greta Lee and Teo Yoo as two childhood friends reuniting after decades apart.

Distributed by A24, Past Lives will be the latest in A24’s line of Asian American hits following The Farewell, Minari, and, Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Past Lives will release in theatres later this year.

“Everything Everywhere” Leads Historic Oscar Nominations

Everything Everywhere All At Once led the Academy Award nominations announcement this week with 11 nominations including four acting nominations, Best Director, and Best Picture.

The film also leads a wave of Asian nominees marking historic representation in both above the line and below-the-line categories for their work in films like The Whale, RRR, Living, Turning Red, and Living.
