Meet Ji-Young, the First Asian American Muppet

Earlier this week, the world was introduced to Sesame Street's newest neighbor. Ji-Young is a seven-year-old Korean American and the very first Asian American Muppet.

Ji-Young and her puppeteer Kathleen Kim will be making their Sesame Street debuts in the upcoming special See Us Coming Together. The special is a celebration of AAPI communities and will feature appearances from actors Simu Liu and Anna Cathcart, comic book artist Jim Lee, chef Melissa King, television personality Padma Lakshmi, and athlete Naomi Osaka.
