Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon - First Look

Walt Disney Animation Studios has released the first official look at their upcoming film Raya and the Last Dragon. as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

With the first look, Disney has announced that Star Wars actress Kelly Marie Tran will be taking over the role of Raya from the previously announced Cassie Steele. EW notes that Tran is the first Southeast Asian actress to lead a Disney film.

Golden Globe-winner Awkwafina also stars as Sisu, “a dragon in human form who needs Raya’s help to reclaim her power and become her true dragon self.” The film is co directed by Don Hall (Big Hero 6, Moana) and Carlos López Estrada (Blindspotting) with a screenplay by Adele Kim (Crazy Rich Asians) and Vietgone playwright Qui Nguyen.

Raya and the Last Dragon is set to release in theaters on March 12, 2021.
